Pediatric Surgery Department of Surgery

Knowing when your child should have surgery and what type of care your child needs should be a collaboration between parents and physicians who focus on children’s surgical care. UF Health pediatric surgeons are fellowship-trained in the care of infants and children who require surgical attention. The American Board of Surgery has a special certification for surgeons who have undertaken this sub-specialty training.

The University of Florida Department of Surgery’s division of pediatric surgery cares for patients throughout Florida and its surrounding states, in addition to seeing patients from all over the world. We diagnose and treat children of all ages, from the tiniest newborns to growing adolescents. Whether a child is in need of a common, minor procedure or a complex surgery, our team has the experience, expertise and training to take care of just about anything. With every child we treat, the comfort and safety of the patient is the highest priority.
